TEACHERS’ DAY VIRTUALLY CELEBRATED AT INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH

 

5th September commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan - a staunch believer of education, scholar, the former President of India and above all, a teacher. On a virtual platform, for the year 2020, Teachers’ Day was celebrated at Indian School Salalah on 5 September, dedicated to all the teachers. The students at Indian School Salalah put up a stunning show online for the occasion to honour the heroes who have quickly adapted to new teaching methods that are effective and inclusive in these challenging times of pandemic COVID 19.

The cultural programme commenced with an invocation dance. The touching rendition of poems by Miss Sakhti Nikita Manivannan, Ayra Fahad and Miss Ananya Vishwanathan, to honour their teachers. The medley songs by grade 11 and 12 students added joy and celebration to the occasion. Master Samved Nambiar and Miss Mansi Gururani in their speeches expressed their gratitude and respect to the teachers. Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, President, School Management Committee, addressing the audience on the occasion, appreciated teachers for adapting to a changed environment for teaching and learning online and said that teachers are ‘guru’ who remove the darkness and bring light among students and people. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Vice-president, SMC in his address insisted the need to respect teachers who instill values in students’ life and who help them shape their future. At the end, the Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar expressed his words of appreciation to both teachers and students for putting up a very bright and colourful programme for the occasion online.
