ONLINE CCA ACTIVITIES

Students with a perfect balance between academics and extra-curricular activities are an asset to the society and will be successful in different spheres of life. In this unprecedented situation of the pandemic, engaging students with online classes alone will not help in the holistic development of the students. They might become victims of boredom, laziness and may lack interest to harness their hidden talents. So, to make schooling feel normal and intact, the CCA team of Indian School Salalah under the able guidance of Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar and the CCA Sub-Committee, started off with online activities which includes Class Assembly, celebrations of special days, and CCA competitions, giving students a platform to exhibit and showcase their talents.

The online class assembly for the secondary and the senior secondary classes commenced on 9th August and for the juniors and sub juniors on 13th August 2020 respectively. The 74th Independence Day of India was celebrated virtually on 15th August 2020 and this maiden attempt was watched and appreciated by more than 1000 viewers through the live stream. It was then followed by the virtual Teachers’Day Celebration on 5th September 2020. The splendid programmes put up by the students made the day a memorable one for all the teachers of Indian School Salalah. The online activities for the month of September concluded with the celebration of Hindi Divas on 14th September 2020.

The online CCA events for the month of October started off with the Gandhi Jayanti Celebration on 2nd October 2020. The celebration was a visual treat to the viewers, with a variety of programmes put up by the students under the guidance of the teaching faculty. 3rd October 2020 marked the beginning of the class wise online CCA competitions. Competitions for Sub Junior, Junior and Senior categories were held on that day. The events are as follows -Hindi Poem Recitation for Sub Juniors, English Extempore for Juniors and Regional Solo Song for the Seniors. The active participation of the students in all the events was much appreciated by all.
