INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH PLANTED SAPLINGS IN THE SCHOOL PREMISE

World Environment Day is the UN’s most important day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment and plant more trees to keep our mother earth green forever. It also focus ‘Beat air Pollution’ as a theme of the celebration in 2019.

The students and the staff of Indian school Salalah participated in plantation drive to make the surroundings green.  As an initiative to motivate the students to plant more and more trees in order to make the earth a better place to live, saplings were planted around the school premises by Dr .S. Srinivasan,Acting Principal and Mr.Unnikrishnan, HoD Social science.  A total number of 15 saplings were planted by the Eco club members of the school. School also took this opportunity to celebrate 150th birth anniversary Mahatma Gandhi by planting a ‘Ashoka’ tree as a tribute to him.

The green campus drive of the school is highly appreciated by the parents, staff and the student community. Acting principal and faculty members appreciated the Social Science department for all the initiation to create a green campus.
