PRIMARY SECTION OF INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH CELEBRATED ETHNIC DAY

In continuation of the Independence day celebration, the primary classes I to IV witnessed the spirit of freedom and display of patriotism in the hearts of young ones as Ethnic day was celebrated on Thursday, 22ndAugust 2019. It was a wonderful sight to see children who came in the traditional attire of their state.

The celebration was graced by Principal, Deepak Patankar, Assistant Vice Principal-Academics (Middle section) Mrs. Ananthalakshmi, Primary In-charge Mrs. Anita Rose and KG In-charge Mrs. Reenu Davis.

In the lower primary (Classes I & II), the day started with the prayer song by the children, followed by a welcome speech. A patriotic song was melodiously sung by the tiny tots of grade 1, the young audience soaked in the spirit of the celebration were seen enthusiastically waving the little Indian paper flags which was made by them as an Independence Day Activity. Followed by the song was a skit which provoked the thought process of the audience as to how and why it is important to take care of our motherland.The skit was well applauded by the audience for their performance. The young students dressed up as freedom fighters came up on stage to speak on the occasion was well received by everyone.

In the upper primary (Classes III & IV), the school choir sang a melodious yet powerful patriotic song that could so gently stir up hearts and make everyone radiate the love and concern they had for the country. The speech given by the trio Mast.Siddarth, Miss. HamnaNishthar and Miss. Hanna Alex mesmerized the audience and brought a strong spirit of patriotism amongst the children. The highlight of the occasion was the declamation done by a few students who were wearing their favorite freedom fighter’s costume. Children witnessed Pandit Jawarhal Nehru, Nethaji Subash Chandra Bose, and Baghat Singh.

Primary In-charge Mrs. Anita Rose in her address expressed her happiness on seeing the students dressed in their traditional costumes. She extended her gratitude to all the parents for their efforts and enthusiasm in taking part in the celebrations. She delivered a speech on importance of freedom which instilled the young minds the need of freedom in life. She also claimed that though all of them were attired by different colours and cultures, they were all one and that they had to continue to nurture this beautiful unity in diversity.

In the recess the traditionally clad young patriots o flooded the quadrangle in a disciplined manner and marched around waving the tricolor flag to the songs “Mile sure mere thumara” and “VandeMataram”with smiles that could make even stones melt. Students of the senior classes watched this beautiful happening in awe and happiness from all the floors of the school. Their marching lit up the whole school’s vibe and brought about a strong aura of patriotism and joy.
